Things that make me nostalgic during Mardi Gras season:

1. Cheap plastic beads

2. The knife stays in the King Cake Box!

3. Any song by Professor Longhair or Beau Jacques

4. Waking up early and going to bed late

5. Wet, cold days that end up sunny

6. When someone laughs loudly or calls joyfully to someone on the street

7. Drama masks

8. Any combination of purple, green, and gold

9. The smell of pork fat

10. The taste of cheap beer
